CW is just a narrower version of AM

The guys gave you a 15 second window on 3705. Ha

3710 is no good because we have SSTV QRM stateside.

Some of us are really trying to work you. I have my beam heading towards EU. How about lower?

Very frustrating - I can plainly hear them with the beam when Paul and Steve are not transmitting which is about a .5% duty cycle.

We stood by and called several times with no replies or the Continental QSO continued. Not sure why the connection was not made. I heard nothing on 3705 after 0600Z.

Sigh...

Well, "I'se regusted".    Disgusted, that is.  Massive QRM at my QTH.   Not sure what it is... Plasma TV?    Switching supplies?   Under-the-counter lighting?    I have no idea, but what ever it is, it's generating   S9+30  crap and corruption all the way to 10 M.    Cry

The only station I managed to work was Paul, WA3VJB, but the rest were  competing with the garbage.    I guess I will have canvass the neighbors and see what kind of  scrap they're using.  I will also check the  15KV power line  on the cross street nearby and see if that's causing problems.

I need this like I need a  sphincter in the middle of my forehead.   Bah!  Angry

Steve - WB3HUZ

Hello AM-lovers,

Very strange conditions this morning, special on 3705...
I were very early in my studio and I received USA on 3705..... but not strong!
I sending emails to USA to tell I hear AM on 3705.

But the stations in the USA hearing only carriers from Europa.
On 3729 and 3885 I hearing evenso AM, but fair signals!

http://onlinereceivers.net/rx322.php
onlinereceivers.net
Receivers on the Web RX320 - New York

On the back I had above internetreceiver standby.
And I heard USA stations talking about European AM on 3705.
I heard they mention, they hear only carriers from us...

This morning on 3705 in AM:
F6AQK
GW8TBG
M0GHQ
PA4AR
PE1MPH

I received W1QIX around 07.15 loud & clear on 3705!!!!
But he were busy with others...
Evenso GW8TBG hearing him, he told me.
And I have heard on the Internetreceiver one station received: Jean F6AQK.
Often, often we calling to the USA.....
But conditions were to poor.

Now 08.10 hours our time I listen to 3885 and still I receive AM from USA!
Not strong, but fair signals.
On 3550 the France AM freq. evenso poor signals.
Only F6AQK good signal by me with some CW.

Oke thats all for today, all people thanks for the fun this morning,

Henk

Howdy,

You are not alone..it's been crappy out west as well, lots of power line noise..clapppers etc. Only made one eastern contact...maybe next year.

I am pissed because I was unable to participate this year. Cry I first had to make a pony express run to the "Vortex" (Lord knows where it is going to fit). Secondly I knocked my back out on Fri. which kept me from going down in the shack. I'll admit, the 3 HR down/3 HR up car ride from Joe's place didn't do me any good. I guess there is always next year. I'm on vacation next week so I'll use my 1X1 call sign during that time. Happy New Year to you all.

I agree.  Listened to them all and felt like last night all over again.

Meant to thank you earlier but thread sort of wandered across the pond with interesting propagation stuff and operators, so will do so now.

Good stuff.
Tnx for taking the time to compile.

Maybe Ray ought to consider cross linking from the Electric Radio site to some of these sound files, to show what people missed.

We have to remember that Henk and the AMers across the pond have a severe power handicap there. They don't have a generous FCC, even though we were cheated out of 1500W carrier and reduced to 1500 PEP.
They hear us like we are AM broadcast.
And yes, our noisy little switching supplies are ALL OVER the Whirl.

FINALLY - I GOTEM

I worked Henk at 11 PM sharp tonight on 3705. The noise was bad and QSB was slow and deep but I did manage a couple of recordings.

Henk was using 120W into an inverted Vee and I was using 100 Watts into the ground plane beam.

Sorry for losing it last night!
