Hi Ed ....

That's a shot from on top of a 165' tower looking straight down.
There's a full size version on my webpage at:

http://www.angelfire.com/blues/wd8bil/bolivia.html

For reference, the mast (on the ground) the antennas are mounted on is a 30 ft mast !

My glasses were all fogged up from the rain. I almost walked right by The Huz Man. The hat which I was wearing needed a pair of windshield wipers.

If anyone believes that ham radio is NOT a "faintly embarrassing" hobby, just check out the bubbleheads at Dayton (or any other hamfest for that matter).

I never noticed any odd looking people at Dayton.

Me neither, the majority look just like me... overweight middle aged white male, glasses, beard, callsign ball cap

I think no matter who you are, we tend to think that we are normal [or cool] and the rest of the outside world is not. [except for our close friends] We are the exceptions. Obviously, the guys who maintain the Ham.Sexy website believe this too....

Ever see the poor bastards pushing the shopping carts down the street collecting cans? I'll bet they too think the outside whirl is crazy and they are in the know.  No one can touch them with words cuz they have no big egos to maintain and have become calloused to ridicule.  That's the way to be happy in radio or any "serious" hobby. Just accept who and what you are without concern for what the "outside" whirl is thinking. Cuz all that matters in the end is if you woke up every day to do what YOU wanted to do without regret.  That's success.

No one can tell me I'm not cool cuz I'm the Mucas Member, running quad sweep tubes, known whirlwide from channel 18, no doubt, caw  mawn.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

That photo looks less like a spiritual experience...and more like the beginning of a nerd-inspired three-way!
