I just heard that "Dangerous Dan" from Anniston, AL has gone SK.  Reportedly died from a head injury when he fell from his tower.  He was active on AM back in the 80's with a DX-100.  We consulted over the air as he performed mods to the DX-100 which greatly improved the sound quality. Later, the mods were written up in The AM Press/Exchange.

I hadn't talked to him in years, and don't think he had been on AM since sometime in the 90's.  I did hear him a time or two on SSB, and our last contact was several years ago on 80m CW.

I believe he took off in a weird direction during his latter years.
