I have some enamel power resistors with metal ends and need some mounting clips as seen in the photo.  The clips in the photo are about 1 inch diameter, I need 3/4" diameter.  Anyone know of a source?

Thanks,
Steve KK7UV

I hate to send you here, but....

Google returned 292,000 hits for fuse clips.

Thought I saw similar items in Home Depot or Lowe's in the Electrical Department.

Believe you are right Pete.  Aren't some of those power fuses 3/4 inch.  Worth looking in the Electric Dept. to see.

Thanks gang,   I'll check out the local stores.  I did not realize they were just fuse clips.

Well...........after checking my local Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, and 4 different commercial electrical supply wholesalers, I came up with nothing.  Now thinking I can maybe homebrew something...

McMaster Carr has blocks that have that type of clip in them.  One could remove the clip to use for anything you choose.  The thing that almost threw me for a loop is the cost.  You may want to pass on these.

On a similar note, I'm building an antenna tuner coil out of 8 gauge solid copper ground wire... which is 1/8" diameter.  I'm going to need to figure out a "clip" solution for a movable tap.  Those fuse holder type clips look pretty good but they are 1/4" and more.  I suppose I'll need to spend some time in the electrical dept of Lowes or Home Depot and I'll find something but if anyone has a tip....

Perhaps you could modify an alligator clip.  One idea is take a rattail file and create a 1/8" gap.   You could also pound out the tips of the alligator clip flat and trim/file/bend them to whatever shape you like.

Yes, that's probably what I'll end up doing.  I would suppose copper clips would be best.  I've seen some that actually are toothless and flat that seem easy enough to modify but they seem awfully "light"  and I'm not so sure they would be rated for the currents in a tuner.

This looks like a possible candidate:

Well, if yer goin to bite da bulet....

http://www.bwantennas.com/coils/coilclip.htm

They will probably work with larger gauge wire if u change up the screw to something longer; ya just gota make shure it fits between the windings.

Ahh yes, the clips scenario.

Home Cheapo has them.  You're just looking in the wrong place.

Smiley

Look in the LIGHTING section.  I believe they sell them as clips for flouro tubes.

Incidentally, they make DANDY clips for socketless Russkie tubes Smiley
