I realize that many AMers have a dislike for QSLing....I'm not sure why, except certainly it can become expensive these days.  Anyway, I enjoy exchanging QSLs and I will certainly respond if anyone wants a card for your contact with W9T.  I made up some cards for the 1X1 call last year and only received a few requests.

Send me a QSL and I will respond.  Also, if you need a card from W9GT, just drop a QSL to me and I will be glad to reciprocate.  I'm good in QRZ.

I received 2 requests to QSL for K7F.....I have responded with my KL7OF card and a penciled in K7F....and a short explanation about Heavy Metal Rally.....I never thought about QSLs when I applied for the 1X1 call...

No...can't say that it was foremost in my mind either...but thought it would be nice to commemorate the activity with a special card.  I only print them up as needed.  As a reference, I really appreciated the card I received from the W1E special event at the hamfest a couple of years ago.

The Heavy Metal Rally was really a successful, albeit low-keyed,  event.  Not meant to be a big contest or anything like that...just a fun activity.  I sure enjoyed it and I'm sure many others who participated did as well.

By the way, Thanks very much for the contact with K7F!!

I need to get a few made up for K1Q. Didn't get to use it for the HMR, but got in some activity last weekend before it expired. QSLing is one of the old traditions I really enjoy and appreciate, even if it's not at the top of the 'to do' list. Especially enjoy getting them mailed with stamps and postmarks vs. stashed inside an envelope.

Flipping through the ol' QSL album is right up there with perusing old log sheets: a trip down Memory Lane, cheap date, and so on. Doesn't take a lot to entertain me.  Grin
