The Comet Pro is a sweet RX, easy to get used to the quirky tuning.  Sorta like a Q5'er.

It was built in four models, so make sure you get the correct schematic for yours.

Some were modified by Western Electric for use a selective level voltmeters by the Bell System.

Mine uses the 2A5 output.

Nice radio, had chance to buy one at Richmond hamfest but was too stupid to pay what the man wanted, but it was nowhere near as nice as that receiver. Use to have a RME-69 and have to wonder why they never put labels on any of those old radios? Was told that if you did not know what each control was you weren’t supposed to use it. My old HRO at least has the functions written on the knob skirts.

That story about the early RME's is true.  I met the owner many years back at the AWA Convention and that's exactly what he told me!

I also have a Comet Pro and its in very nice shape.

If you ever need any parts for one let me know.  I have a parts unit as well.  I did give Todd, KA1KAQ some parts from it a few years back.
