Hammarlund Clock Shaft Extensions

I give up searching the web.    The Hammarlund HQ-110 I just fixed up has a working Telechron clock.    The setting
shaft isn't long enough to go through the rear of the cabinet.   Anyone know where I could get some sort of extension shaft for it.   I have seen the 1/4 inch ones for variable caps.   This is about 1/8 inch or less.

Go to any good hobby shop, and look at K&S metal tubing, or  Plastruct plastic tubing.  Various sizes are available in both.

Thanks Ed, never thought of that.   We have a local shop that has those sort of things.   I should have known, I have built some RC planes in the past.

Or you can find the old electric alarm clocks, (Westclock comes to mind) I think they used the same shaft as that of the Hammarlund.

You never mentioned what the shortfall length was. Does it just come to the back end of the cabinet and doesn't protrude through the back, or is it further in? Some of the Telechron clock shafts required an end adjusting knob with a longer type connecting shaft. i.e. typical clock knobs found on lots of clock radios.
