I wuz driving in Albany, NY yesterday  listening to the SSB chatter on the 28.300-500 segment. I had my transceiver on scan and all of a sudden it locked on a loud squeal. I flipped it over to AM and there was Joe on 28.405. He wasn't' all that strong to overcome the interference created by Albany but I guess he's carving out a new niche on the lower section on AM. I'm going to give it a try in that area of the band next time I am in a better area. Joe now lives in Preston, ID. so that's pretty good haul to my mobile!

Joe actually had a small pile up. He later switched over to USB.  I tried to work him in both modes but couldn't cut it. Didn't have the HP.

Cool, last month on the 26th. I heard him again this time on 28.325 AM. Bad place to operate in a way as it's seems to be an outlaw band for Spanish truckers? They were on AM too but I couldn't get enough info to know where they were from?  This time I wuz in Elizabethtown, NY parked right under many 115000 volts three phase lines at a substation having a bag lunch. The output to the town is 7200 three phase. The amazing part is that the power lines and the sub station were so quiet!! Not even a spark! So far, ten seems way off in terms of being a "Hot" band??
