Has anyone built the KB9Y synchronous AM detector featured in the fall 1994 edition of Communications Quarterly? I see the MC13022 IC is still available on eBay, and FarCircuits still has the PC board. Is the performance worth the trouble of building? (We used this chip for AM stereo at work, too bad I didn't save a few.)

Hell-bent on getting synchonous detection

I built a couple using the MC13122, which is fairly similar.  See this thread:
