It's nice and quite on 3885 this morning, 01:30 and I just had 2 nice QSOs
with W9GOB Dan near Chicago and George W0HIO in central Ohio.

Anyone else up late?

Yes! This morning evenso in Europa very quit.
No stations far away received on 3705 and 3885.
On 3705 I (PE1MPH) had between 06 to 07 (hours our time) a qso with
PA1SBV and PE3BB. Both working with a BC 610.
But Ron on 1510 khz mw I received with good signal an USA broadcaststation.
I made a recording and sending it to Ken (W2DTC) he wrote to me:

Found it. WWZN in Boston, Mass.

(Thanks Ken for you help!)

Very strange to receive that station with fair to good signals and totaly
nothing on 3885....

Hopefull next weekend better conditions Ron,

What happened to you  late last night or early this  morning?  When you didn't come back, a 2 station in Atlanta called me.  We talked for a while, and he, too, suddenly dropped out in the middle of a transmission.

No-one else was on the air.  Things were eerily quiet for a weekend night on 75.  Not even many slopbuckets on.  The QRN wasn't all that bad.  I just cut off the filaments and went to the house.

I think I must have fallen asleep. I had been up since 4am, we left the
house at 4:30am for the 3 hour drive to Raleigh NC for the hamfest.

Conditions were surprisingly good last night/early this morning.

I enjoyed the QSO, no reflection on the conversation, just dead tired.

I look forward to the next time. It sure would be nice if it could be
like that all the time (no QRM)...
Then maybe little stations like mine could get through.

The next night or two ought to be good, with little or no QRN.  Look at the WX map.  Now that the most recent front has blown out into the Atlantic, one giant high-pressure system covers the entire N American continent, with new fronts just barely nudging into the Pacific Northwest.  I plan to make it a point to get on the radio this evening.
