304-TH - Workin' it

« on: March 21, 2007, 11:20:20 PM »

From the Heil press release:

“Our own family has been affected by this terrible disease, and this is our way of helping raise the awareness of breast cancer,” says Sarah Heil, vice president of Heil Sound. ”Early detection is the key to beating this thing, and if we can help through being proactive in the entertainment industry, then the Pink Pearl will have been a success.”

Heil has retained the services of Guesthouse Projects in Palm Springs, Calif. to promote its “Pink Campaign,” which will bring artists together with microphones that promote a wonderful cause. “I started Guesthouse Projects with the intent of working directly with a manufacturer to establish and nurture a relationship between the company, the artist/artist management and production groups," says owner Greg McVeigh. "The Pink Campaign allows artists to endorse the cause and use great sounding microphones.”

That little ol' pink toolkit brought back a memory of looking at Lionel's "Girls train" in the window of local hobby shop years ago. I remember thinking, even as a youngster, "who'd buy such a girly train?"  Well, nobody did.  Any girl in love with trains in the first place wanted one as realistic as possible.  Probably same way for tools; only people buying a set will probably buy it as a gift for their hot chick d'jour.  So guess what?  Intact Lionel pnk engine/tender sets are now a very hot collectors item.

Yeah, my 813 outta be dressed out in pink.  Shoud look hot in the estate sale someday.  Real metrosexual radio. Hope we don't give Kenicomsue Inc. any ideas.

Speaking of which, ol' Bob should have tried one of those Mary Kay style programs where you get a pink microphone if you sell them to 20 of your friends.
