Description: Having morning coffee with the Viking III on 40 meters. What could be better? I can't recall too many times that someone has not come back to a CQ on 7290 or 7295. Signals are quite good between 9:00 am and noon. Then the broadcasters start pounding in and that pretty much closes down that portion of the band. I often run into Frank K3SQP or Nick VE3OWV monitoring the top 10kc.
