Yes, as always, it was great seeing you there, Larry. You do have a knack for finding those crystals; they always seem to elude me. I guess I'm too much like a puppy, so overwhelmed and excited by all the wonders—quick! run over here and bite this; run over there and sniff that; run down there and pee on those (I didn't pee on anything, I promise)—that I just don't have the patience to spend much time in one place looking at things in detail. I'm sure I miss a lot of good stuff like that.
I didn't see a whole lot of regular AM'ers there, but we did spend some time conversing with the 'Tron. Sylvia tried to get him to buy a microphone cover, but he wasn't in a buying mood.
I didn't make any huge purchases, but I did come home with a very nice looking—but only actual use will really tell—pair of Eimac 3-500Z's. A nice big Harris roller inductor; an unmarked fixed vacuum cap that measured out at 100pf, for $5; a brand-new looking plate transformer—3400v @1.5 amps—which tested perfectly on my bench, and a handful of RF chokes rounded out the day.
While the actual air temperature and humidity were very reasonable, the expanse of hot blacktop and scarce breeze made it a bit uncomfortable.
An excellent meal at Firefly's barbecue downtown made it an all around great day, and a tiring one, as well. Time for a good night's sleep!
