Yes, absolutely. Every year, around this time, I make it a point to read up on some of the historical accounts and stories of the Pilgrims, and it really puts the blessings of our modern life in perspective. A rugged and motivated group of people surviving hardships that would shrivel the hearts of us modern-day softies. A day to give thanks for what we've got.
