Over the past few days I've noticed that all the WebSDR receivers have no audio through my PC which is connected to Bluetooth speakers. All the Kiwi SDR receivers work just fine, as do all other sites I connect to. Did WebSDR do a software upgrade? Is there some audio mute that is on by default? What is even more confusing, all sites work just fine on my iPad.

If your using Firefox that may be the problem.  From what I am told, they did an upgrade and that created the problem.

Here is a fix Rich-WA2ZPX came up with and everyone I have passed it along to said it fixed the problem.

It is related to the K3FEF SDR site but may apply to other sites as well.

Firefox fix

1.    When in firefox connected to K3FEF, Click on the lock to left of k3fef.com:8901 URL

2.    Right click on right arrow next to connection

3.    Right click on more information

4.    Right click on permissions

5.    At the autoplay line, uncheck use default, and select audio and video

6.    X out

Joe
I am using Firefox and your tip fixed the problem, Thanks
One correction, all the "right clicks" are actually left clicks, but this might have to do with how you configure your mouse and being left or right handed.

Thanks, Joe. I'd been having the same problem here with a local 6-meter WebSDR, and your fix cleared it up.

Last night Firefox had an update to 103.0.2 and changed my AUTOPLAY default back to "block Audio" which kills all my SDR audio. Had to go back in and "allow" it. Other audio/video web sites don't seem to have the problem.

Well that explains my having to dial long distance to hear an interactive video conference, while the mike worked and the video was displayed perfectly. I thought it was just torturing me because I did not have a camera connected.

Firefox has been very quirky as of late. It seems it doesn't take much for it to lock up. I'm not running any media applications with it. I have been using it to research new QTH locations on realtor.com. It locks up every time. Last night using Edge at the same website I didn't have any problems. They seem to run too many applications while active. Looking at my task manager while using it 2 nights ago, I saw 24 applications of Firefox opened and running!
