 Tried to post a word document, the board will not accept a word file with a .docx extension which what the current version of word gives a file.

Bring the file up in Word.
Then click Save As;
Then under File Name, either rename the file or use the same name as shown;
Then Field Save As Type, Click the drop-down arrow;
Click Word 97-2003 Document
Click SAVE
File will be saved with a .doc extension.

Note that .doc files can be read by the latest versions of Word. However, .docx files cannot be read by Word software that is looking for .doc extensions. I always save my Word files just in .doc (Save As Type - Word 97-2003 Document). This way it can be read by current and past versions of Word.

Bette yet, save it as a PDF. Then those who don't have MSWord, can view the doc.

That said, files with the docx extension can now be attached to posts.
