Title: Re: syd barrett rip Post by: KA1ZGC on July 11, 2006, 01:11:12 PM Wow. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun.
After Syd's burnout in the 60s, I understand he lived a very quiet, reclusive life, and mostly an assisted one. Sad to see someone so intense burn so white-hot and then suddenly burn out completely like that. To be that blown-away for almost 40 years couldn't have been much of a life, but I'm sure he was taken care of. Even those first two Floyd albums still sell pretty well. Total bummer. If there's a next life, I hope it's more of a life for him than this one was. Rest in peace, Syd. --Thom I'll waive the goofy phonetics for this one. Wish You Were Here and The Wall. Saw Floyd in Boston back in 77. Cant beat a flying pig. :(
