Title: W4AX 20V-3 Conversion to 75M
Post by: w4ax on March 03, 2024, 11:42:00 AM
I thought you may like to see my conversion of a Collins 20V–3 to 75 meters. If you take on such a project, I would be pleased to share my lessons learned. https://photos.app.goo.gl/s7C2rHVSLGfQbKJXA

I’d like to hear about your control system, as well as T/R switching.  I converted an RCA BTA-1R1 into a 80/40/20 tribander over the last couple years and I’m also happy to talk about lessons learned….there were quite a few…and some reconversions…

The RCA is a pair of 4-400As modulating a pair, similar to your Collins… lots of big heavy parts, high voltage, and cleanup work.  I loved working on it and everybody says is sounds great, and it makes me smile when I hit the switch and those big relays whack their contacts together…
