Title: AM on 3715 khz
Post by: pe1mph on September 11, 2021, 01:32:31 PM
Hello AM Lovers,
When I have had a 'toilet break' in the night...
Then I go often to our livingroom...
Listen there shortly to my radio (Kenwood R 5000).

I heard some nights AM on: 3715 khz

They talking in French language and signals are mostly poor to weak.
But I have heard some stations talking, with fading.
First I thought they comming from France...

No! From Canada!!
This early morning (by me +/- 02.00 hour) I heard them again.
And I heard the stations on this webreceiver: http://ymartin.com:8073/

And other webreceivers in the East part of Canada.

I can tell you, I do not understand their AM talk. :'(
So I do not have any calls of names.

Maybe there are readers on this AM Forum.
Who know; who they are and from where in Canada (qth's) they transmitting.

Hi, hi... perhaps one of them is reading this...
And can sent me more info about AM on 3715 khz.

Greetings,

Henk / pe1mph

Hello Henk,

I also heard the French speaking AM operators on 3715 from my location in Virginia. Their signals were about S6 here, just above the band noise. I wasn't able to make out any call signs either.

Brad,
Thanks for your info!
Last night I heard them again on 3715 khz.
Most signals were not strong by me, but most I could receive.
I guess they comming from Canada.... and speaking in the French language.
I can not understand them, but sometimes I know where the are talking about...
Later in the morning, by me, I hear often ssb on 3715 khz...

Perhaps I can hear once clearly a call.....

Greetings, ;)

They are some guys from New Brunswick.  My high school French is very sketchy after 40 years. They have been comparing Microphones, processing etc.  One Call is VE9RC. Another I believe is VE9TW. I might dare to break in; but if I do it in French, I will be quickly overwhelmed.

Good signals to Cape Cod at night.

Thanks Steve,
No I can not understand and speak in French.
But sometimes I can guess where the talking about...
I think they have on 3715 khz an AM-Net, every day.

The conditions were this morning very good.
I heard cleary many MW stations from the Usa.
For example on 760 khz: WJR.

And, yes and....
AM stations talking on 3873 khz!
But, a pity, around that freq. I had qrm/noise!
I need to listen 'very small' to hear them.
Sorry I did not get calls or names...

Greetings,

Henk
