Title: Globe 90A / oscillator question
Post by: N9AXl on April 24, 2021, 10:40:28 PM
I’m repairing this Globe 90A. Replaced all the caps, checked the resistors, replaced the power cord. Basically in good shape except someone decided running the power cord in contact with the ceramic resistors was a good idea - the melted power cord probably is what killed this back in the day. I rerouted the new cord so that isn’t an issue.

It powers up but I’m seeing no meter reading and no indication of oscillation/output when I monitor this on the shack receiver.

I am assuming the next step is to check the 6AG7 oscillator tube since if that’s bad nothing will be happening.
