Title: External AM detector circuit? Post by: WA2SQQ on March 27, 2015, 10:26:05 AM Recently upgraded my Flex 5000 to the 6500. Just read that the 6500's Monitor function is sampled before the EQ, so any adjustments can't be heard. My faithful HQ-180 does not have the bandwidth to really hear how it sounds. Does anyone have any circuits for a decent (external) AM detector that I can feed into an external amp and monitor myself on a pair of headphones? Obviously I can use a 1N34 and a few caps, but I'm thinking that there is something better that would allow be to hear the full audio pass band.
