Title: What voltage could I expect? Post by: 4cx250 on March 17, 2011, 11:37:19 AM Hello All! I would like to permantly mount a meter between my chassis on the TX, and the 8 foot ground rod directly behind the TX. What could I see there? Tnx, Title: Re: What voltage could I expect? UL uses a current meter to measure leakage current in a similar manner. In some classes of equipment 20ma is a failure. Depending on the ground path length between the 2 a few volts AC wouldn't be surprising, assuming the TX chassis is grounded somewhere else. Title: Re: What voltage could I expect? Will I see any voltages? Will I see a good SNAP when I hook the TX chassis to the ground rod? Tnx, Title: Re: What voltage could I expect? I'd plug in the TX, turn it on and measure the voltage first. Ifn a cap failed in the TX there could be a goodly amount of voltage there. In either event, if you're adventurous, unplug the TX, connect it to ground and plug it back in!!! Take PIXS!! ;D |
