Title: 7287, 7290, 7293 and 7295 khz AM
Post by: pe1mph on April 14, 2024, 01:56:38 AM
Hello AM Lovers,
Last night (early in the morning) I were out bed: toilet and drink something.
Later I listen to sw and mw, starting +/- 04.45 hour Summertime (02.45 hour GMT Time).

On my own radio! ;)
On 3873 khz very weak some stations...
On 40 meters I heard some stations talking!

- 7287 khz, KB???? (3 or 4 stations, but I could not copy calls/names)
- 7295 khz, KB3??? (Glen?)

The freq. 7287 were not free / clean by me and close by a BC station.
The freq. 7295 were good, free and clean by me!

I made a short recording from the station on 7295 khz, perhaps....
He heard himself..... hi, hi...

A pity we (in Europe) may not use that part of 40 meters, but.... hi, hi...
Perhaps I try it in a morning, to get a short qso on that part of 40 meters in AM.
Because during the night I have less band NOISE on sw.

So this morning between 7290 - 7300 were free /  clean by me.
I used my Kenwood R-5000, standing in our living room.
Antenna 2x +/- 33 meters long, connect to home-made antenna tuner.

UPDATE 40 meters
This morning, 15 april 2024, I heard again AM on 7287 khz.
(Again) On my own radio in our livingroom!
Two stations were talking and.....
.... I made a recording from both: +/- 07.02 Summertime (05.02 GMT Time).

Listen / See below
;)

The first talking man: max S2
The second talking man: max S5

Freq. were absolutely free by me this morning!!
When they go Off Air (to sleep?), I heard shortly a weak station calling on 7290 in AM.
Perhaps that station would talk with both stations?

Who are they? ???

NOW!!

Time by us in Holland: 07.25 hour in the morning.
And I am now 100% sure I hear Tim WA1HLR on +/- 7290 khz in AM.
But... but his signal is weak, oh so weak....
I can hear only a few words, no more.

Tim talks with?
That station to weak for me.... only a very little carrier.....
I listen now on my own radio, Kenwood R 5000 in our livingroom!
Antenna 2x +/- 33 meters.

Freq 7290 now totaly clean / free by me. ;)
