Nice! I worked him an hour before dark on 21.420!  There is AM happening on the classic HF bands!

Would 15 be considered a classic band?

How blue is the sky?

I consider 80/40/20/15/10 the "classics" :)

Along with the 5 and 2.5 meter bands. Of course we don't have those any longer. And, the 40 meter classic was CW only.

You can get on 11 meters anytime you'd like. Lots of good DX too.

Yup but not harmonically related (well, almost).  It wasn't very popular because of this.  I recall no big sweat when we lost it.

I have a FT-301 that's been tricked to xmit on 11.  Never used it on xmit. Listened once never again

worked W1LYD/vy1 today at 1845Z  qsl lasted about 10 minutes before qrm/n got so bad that we couldn't hear each other.  I was working my only rig a kenwood ts440 sat with a dipole at about 35 feet. As the antenna  is oriented east west  a 40 watt contact with yukon is making me real happy.

Congratulations on both he and you for sticking with it for 10 minutes before getting QSL!  Most operators give up after a couple of tries.

I probably should have said conversation lasted 10 minutes not qsl lasted 10 minutes.
