Dennis,

I think you've been spending too much time up on that lift platform.  You should get back down on the ground where the air is more stable. ;D

If I said that B&W sold a phonograph, I'd prolly be called a liar.

And, I do like the air up there.  Eau de OSB!

Dennis,
Amazing that they sold a phonograph.  Of all the Jack Williamson stories, he never mentioned why they did that.  I will look through the archives and see if I have any more info on it.
Great find concerning the ad sheet.

Wow!  That looks like the phonograph players that were in every one of my early school classrooms.  The teachers would wheel them out on a cart for audio lessons.  Heck when I was 6, in 1972, the 1950's seemed like such ANCIENT HISTORY but it was only 12 years earlier.. go figure.  I mean they watched Black and White TV back then!

Dennis,

Thanks for posting, that is an unusual B&W product.  I have a Central Electronics CRT tester/rejuvenater.  Maybe one day I can use it with the scope tube in one of my CE transmitters or monitors :)

John, turning six in 1972-you are such a youngster on the board :)  I was 12 by 1972 and only 2 years away from my novice ticket.  I remember the same style record player but they were a little newer when I was in elementary school.  It didn't stop one from sending out smoke and sparks from damaged line cord insulation.  It was always nice when something different and exciting happened to liven up the school day.

That B&W rig has a PM dynamic speaker! No tinny horn or electromechanical driver.  And no clunky field coil with the full B+ voltage on it!
