I am trying to bring life into a Lafayette HA-460 and while replacing the capacitors I came across a wire that is attached to L4 along with a coax cable’s center conductor. The wire goes thru a divider but I can not figure out where it attaches. Has anyone worked on one of these?

The wire attached to L4 is actually a small antenna, so that when you activate the Spot Switch, the receiver can hear the signal. The other end of the wire is not attached to anything.

Thanks for the Bama info. John! Pete pulled me out of the fire on a wire now maybe I can find what tube number is in the shield. When I cleaned the chassis I saw all of the tube numbers stamped except for the one behind the SPDT switch and the one behind the Meter which is covered. I got the 6 meter bug bad and I want to work AM on a tube radio.

And here's a bit of trivia:  the HA-460 was imported from Japan where it was made by Nissin  and sold domestically as the Pana-Sky Mark-6.   The HA-410 was the Pana-Sky Mark-10.

Actually they (HA-410 and HA-460) were made by both Nissin and Trio during the course of their life cycle. The Trio units can be identified by the small letters TRIO embossed on the chassis and the change in audio output/modulator tubes and some other minor circuit/component changes.

Great information on the Pana-Sky! I found a website (X-JF1VHX) that has pictures of the inside top that helped me on Tube location.
