Title: 1956 Callbook
Post by: Chris P. on October 14, 2010, 01:52:50 PM
Does anyone have a 1956 callbook handy? I found a set of 1956 Virginia license plates with the call W4JG and was wondering who they may have belonged to.

Thanks

Thanks Joe,

The plates haven't traveled too far. That address is about 15 miles from my house.

It looks like W4JG is held by someone in NC now.

Your welcome Chris and as you said, the plate did not stray far from his QTH.  I am glad you found it and it did not land in a waste dump somewhere.  Things like that with me usually lead me down a historical path to learn more about the individual.

Sorry to hear that he is now an SK, but I notice he did live longer than his wife.  It would be interesting to see when he first got on that air.  He was certainly old enough to be on in the spark days.
