I have an original Heathkit box from a HD-422 noise bridge. I could be rich! I hope nobody finds out I have an un-built Allied VOM in the original box. They'll be beating down the doors. This sale seems like an invitation for trolling klc Title: Re: Ham Radio Collectible Post by: W1UJR on October 11, 2010, 08:40:19 AM Real Ham Collectable
What ever happened to the awards that Hugo Gernsback used to give out to shortwave listeners? I've never seen one of those surface, on eBay or museum. Would really love to see. Surely some of those must have survived the metal drives of WW 2? Don't have a mag with a photo to scan here, but you saw then in early Radio Craft and Short Wave News. Title: Re: Ham Radio Collectible Post by: Sam KS2AM on October 11, 2010, 04:53:02 PM I like the ' Selling in "as is" condition ' disclaimer.
I guess that means he can't guarantee that it is still a functional box. Maybe he "has no way to test it" ::) Sam / KS2AM Title: Re: Ham Radio Collectible Post by: WQ9E on October 11, 2010, 06:57:05 PM I just hope the box is properly boxed for safe shipping. I guess if he double boxes the box then the nothing inside it will be safely protected via triple box shipping.

Title: Re: Ham Radio Collectible Post by: Pete, WA2CWA on October 11, 2010, 08:04:57 PM Maybe you guys need to get out more. An Ebay search for "empty box" in all categories, turned up 84 pages of items being sold.
Here's one of 84: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=empty+box&_fln=1&_mlcat=220&_sac=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282 Title: Re: Ham Radio Collectible Post by: flintstone mop on October 11, 2010, 09:02:25 PM Waht if that box is smashed in shippment???

An Ebay search for "empty box" in all categories, turned up 84 pages of items being sold. I don't think we're the ones who need to get out more. Title: Re: Ham Radio Collectible Post by: W1ATR on October 12, 2010, 08:17:39 AM Waht if that box is smashed in shippment??? Fred I'll ask the seller if he can build a felt lined and cushioned plywood box around it and then double box the whole thing for shipping. |
