Title: Antenna Beautification
Post by: W7SOE on August 01, 2010, 01:01:16 PM
Unlike some of you I do not live in a rural area, I live in close-in Portland OR.  And, unfortunately  ;) , I like my neighbors.

Even though nobody complained I always though I could improve the looks of my antenna support.  I bought sections of fiberglass mast of ebay, pretty cheap actually.  That allowed me to run the feed-line down the center of the mast.

Fred,
He has a dipole supported at the center by a large light colored mast.  It is fed with black window line which is stood off from the mast about a foot with white pvc tubing.   Definitely it wasn't a stealth installation.

HUZMan likes the new installation. It looks neater. I'm sure the RF performance of the two are the same, but keeping the neighbors happy is a worthy endeavor.

** One HUZMan on this forum is more than enough.  **

To me an antenna is a thing of beauty; doing anything to disguize it only diminishes its beauty.
