This is our Wedding Weekend, 15 years ago this crew gathered in our front yard to help it all happen.  Great memories & friendships . Thanks for being there, for us to hang on to as part of the future.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, Paul!

Nice shot of the AM mafia. Time has been very kind to you and your wife, and to Gary, Mike, Steve, and their wives.

I don't know who the fellow is on the far right; he doesn't look familiar.

73,

Bruce

Thanks Bruce, that's Pete WA3WBJ, best friend since 11th Grade.

He's my musical mentor, proficient on guitar (bummed about Les Paul, he's had one since 1972), piano, Hammond B-3 (bummed they quit making them in 1974), and drums.

Plays in a Beatles tribute band (yes that's a Rickenbacker):

Derb you're absolutely right about when the right one comes along. All previous were just lab experiments.  And Dave, you and Lori with those two great kids have really got it good too.

Congrats, Paul. Someday we'll make it east of the Ohio River...

Do I need a tux or tie for you stylish easties?

All I've got are the Jerry Garcia ties.

But we're weird out here .

That clip-on looks pretty good, eh?

I have several Garcia ties. They used to be rare. Now you see them everywhere. I even saw one in an airport store.

Contrats Paul and Pam. Here's to 15 more.

Geezing allready, hmmm.................

Unfortunately, I do find myself having quite a few brain-farts lately. I think that is one of the early signs of geezing ???  ::)

Is it the memory that goes first, or the hair, I forget? ?  ???  ???

Dave and I called the Lumbago Net on Sunday afternoon but you were not heard. Good conditions on 75 meters, not like Saturday night when the static was 20-over-9.

Had the RF deck out of the 4x1 rig, doing some upgrades and testicling. After a dose of the Norwalk Virus and cutting the grass, my lumbago was bothering me too bad to get up off of the couch. :o  ;)

Dave, watch out, it'll catch up with you quicker than you think. Its right around the corner just waitin to get ya! !  You'll be tradin that Cadillac for a battery powered scooter buggy ;)  ;D

Steevo, I have to pull the P.A. deck out one more time, I'm still working out the P.A. tank coil / loading cap issue. I have it loading nicely on 80 and 160, but 40 is now a little wierd. I also have to troubleshoot out the scream regulator as well. I may be doing some on air testing one night this week. One way or the other I will be on for the lumbago net friday.

Oh yea, Mad Dog took one of the smoked out transfomas, he said he wants to try his hand at rewinding one  ;D  ;D

Can he join us on the no antenna net?

All kidding aside, I'd be happy to trek up there and do some antenna work. Then we could beat him up in person instead of here.   ;) :D

Why is it that after 46 years on the air and 23 years of marriage, women still think I have a problem with commitment?

Jack,
Apparently you've never been in a long running AM QSO ;D  ;D they all drift off of the original "topic of discussion" and you NEVER know where they might just end up. Why should we be any different here! ! All it takes is the right comment at the perfect time to throw the whole QSO into the toilet ;D  ;D Been there done that ;)

Break-in is the way to go!! As most operators are "rotationally challenged" which means too lazy to write everyone's call down in order. Henceforth we go to break-in and the comments fly, and you never know where the QSO is going or will end up.  :o  ;)

No it Ain't,...you only have to write a call down once, Laziness is an individual thing to be avoided,... But..Misery loves company I guess...lol :D

Where does it cover This "Break in" in the Manual..See this is one of those Things that lead to the Laxity on air that some think or perceive as proper operation....I don't Operate like that Do I. No you don't know because I don't Take Part.

Steve, et. al. in the AM world of real radio.

Seems I've been just about everwhere but on the air this summer.  Mandatory family wedding out west in Colorado, tour of all the Utah canyons afterwards; acutually floated in the Great Salt Lake.  Then a long list of family and visitors here in WVa.  Don't know where the summer went.

The Salt Lake is nothing like I imagined.  First I had to walk over salt laden, rocky 'beach' for a mile before reaching the water, then scatter zillions of flea like bugs that covered the water in waves, then swim along with more zillions of brine shrimp that looked and felt exactly like mosquito larvae.   Uuhhg.
Anyway, you know how in normal water, including the ocean, your feet sink?  Well, in Salt Lake you couldn't keep them down.  They just popped right up.   Hmmmm.

Also 3733's been kind of wiped out at my distance from y'all all summer, along with continuous storms and static.  But, hey, couple of nights ago I listend to ZRF's fine signal along with more melodious female voice in background.  Fall's looking promising.

I'll fire up the 813's later today.

I've been on 3733 very little myself. The band is not good for much that time of day. Add in static and it's toast. Dave and I were on there last weekend, but I could hear Dave probably any time of the day.

Looks like you've been having a FB summer. Catch you on the radio in the coming months.
