Title: Furl
Post by: k4kyv on April 14, 2008, 04:27:24 PM
Does anyone here use the Furl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furl) website?  When I opened my account, it allowed me to archive and save web pages, which I could go back to open at a later time.  The beauty of it was that it archived the whole page and not just the url.  If the page was later taken down, I could still view my copy in the archives.

Now, they have changed the format.  It appears that all that is left in My Archive is the url to the site, and I  can no longer find any "My Copy" button.  If the page has expired, all I get is a 404 notice.  This way, all that is left is nothing but a set of bookmarks; my Firefox bookmarks are just as good, so this has rendered the site worthless.

I am wondering if they have removed the archives and eliminated the service, or if I am somehow missing something.

Don,

never heard of Furl... but check http://Archive.org to see if there are copies there or not. They do have copies of my site going back to the beginning.
