Frostfest was always a good venue. All indoors, pretty large arena. If people couldn't get inside, they would tailgate outside. I just wish it wasn't so far away, otherwise I would have gone today. Duane, KK4AM and I would go. It seems we would always wind up eating cold fried chicken with salt&vinegar potato chips for lunch.

Pretty good show this year. Well attended and a fair amount of "good" stuff. Just what I can remember

Got me an apparently fairly rare Zenith Shutter Dial Table Top radio.

yea, thats one of he better tabletop models. I bet it plays dont it? those caps in those Zenith's are like iron, they often dont go bad enough o make h radio ever quit. I've fixed 7 or 8 of them back in the golden age radio days. Sweet radios.

that one looks better than most. watch the plastic buttons, they'll break if he control behind it binds or sticks.

How much ladda line do you need?
I just bought 100' of it and probably only used about 60' of it. 40' is not allot but it will do for a little while anyway.
I've also got plenty of wire left that JN gave me. I can spool off a couple hundred feet for you and ship it to you.

I was paying Attention to the guy who was opening the receiver to take a look , waiting  for him to remove his hand from it and walk away so I could pay the man ! Derb, I haven't fired the Zenith up yet. Gonna put it on the variac if I do that. The pix I attached is not of the one I bought. Mine needs some resto work. But I think it will like pretty close to the one in the pix when I'm done. All the knobs and buttons are missing. Got a source for those all lined up. Someone did put a few new orange drops and electrolytics in it sometime in the recent past. I didn't see any parts or trannys oozing and no burnt marks. Hopefully it will fire up without major surgery. Should be fun. Matches my console shutter dial nicely (same exact chassis).

that doesnt extend to the filters. Bu i swear Zenith had coupling and bypass caps that about 70% of he time just did not get leaky. And if thy did, it was very high ohmage, You never found stuff like a .01 with a 100K resistance. Just didnt happen. Might be a meg, bu hey just did no go bad like most caps of the era did to the extent they did. I always wondered why. good score. shutter dials are the shit.
