A friend from work who does tree surgery on the side called me regarding a 45 foot free standing Rohn tower and what sounds like a trinbander and rotor he recently took down for a client.  Its currently is in his possssion, disassembled,  in good condition in Westbrook CT.  He is not going to give it away but will let it go for a reasonable offer.  Does not have the rotor control box - you would have to retrieve that from the original owner.  Was taken down at the request of an elderly couple, the husband apparently is a ham.

Call Wayne at 860-303-2045 if interested.  Fran, maybe just the thing for the beach house in Black Point - if Vu doesn't beat you to it for Area 51!

Thanks, Chris, but I've been all towered out since 2001 when the last one went up.  Yes, it would be a good tower for Franz. Add another 55' and rock and roll from Niantic.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Gee sounds cool. Have not decided if I will put up a tower yet. Just too busy building to think about radio. I may go with a HD tripod on the roof.  The peak of the roof is a good 60 feet above rocky neck salt marsh across the street.
Many years ago a ham renting a few doors down and I kicked butt on 20 with a gotham and TR4....wish I remembered his call. maybe he bought it used from mr vu.

No, I wouldn't have the heart...You remember the story when I brought the Gotham back to Corky at Hatrys?  He forgot he sold it to me the week before and axed, " What are you doing with THAT piece of crap?"   Shocked

Tom,
We worked all over the world that week and had a ball. It was about 5 houses closer to the beach and the antenna was strapped to a hunk of rusty pipe in the ground.
All I had at our place was the trusty GR64 and a hunk of wire. The gotham high energy loading coil was removed though.
