I wouldn't be at all surprised if the guy was an AM'er. There's a UTC VM-3, in its original box, along with several large mica transmitting caps. I don't see any homebrew transmitters, but I doubt those images are all-inclusive. He was a builder, without a doubt.

I'm going to bet that it will never hit the scrapper. In NY, there's enough population and therefore honest interest for it to get junked.

I hate it when good gentlmen pass away and there's a ton of stuff, and possibly relatives don't know what to do about any of it.

Publishing image of it on reddit is possibly the worst thing they could do because every flake and four-flusher within 200 miles is now on high alert.

p.s. I like the Logimetrics unit. They make a fine VFO, fit in Rack, and don't look like a cheap toy.
