Maybe the best free museum in the world, right up there with the Smithsonian. Always try to build time into Hamvention trip to get there but have not been in the last several years. was there when they opened the space gallery. Most people get all worked up on the space shuttle and all that stuff but the big thing for me is now that everything that was involved with the Agena is no longer classifieds they have a Gambit KH-7 on display along with the C-119J aircraft that was used to capture the film capsule as it returned to earth.
https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Visit/Museum-Exhibits/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/197556/fairchild-c-119j-flying-boxcar/scroll thru all the pictures and you will see the radio position on board and the ART-13 and BC-348 that were used for communications along with the VHF receiver and DF system that was used to track the capsule on reentry.
They would fly a wing of planes each located just after the other along the reentry path in case the capsule over or undershoots its predicted reentry.
From KH-1 to KH-9 over twenty years and over thirty flights only a couple capsules were lost. quite a program that only became public after the NRO was declassified.
