Hamvention is like the Hajj in that it"s the duty of every devout Ham to attend at least once and for the able to attend annually.  Love the new venue, way better than that dump at Hara that only got worse every year. The so-called parking lot ? flea market lot where your vendor ticket had a big warning that you would pay a $50 fine for putting a hole in the parking lot, like you would be able to tell if you did in that pot hole ridden dump to the Rumpke portapots all five of them for twenty thousand people and the couple Hara food vendors charging $7.50 for a hamburger to the new facilities at Xenia where they have clean Air Conditioned buildings, large open flea market on grass, or sometimes mud and best of all multiple food truck vendors. If you been there you know, if not plan to go.
I will be at 7739 with the Midwest Military Radio contingent. And intend to be active locally for our annual 3885 WW2 AM radio net running an old BC-653 transmitter receiver on Saturday. There is always a big collection of others running old WW2 field equipment at Hamvention.
Who else will be there?

I will be travelling from upstate NY. First time going after 50 years as a ham! I will heading up on Wednesday, doing Contest University on Thursday and the HamVention Fri and Sat. I hope to also visit the National Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB. I'm sure I'll come back with something from the Flea Market.. I don't necessarily need anything, but something always catches my eye.

MMRCG/MRCA (Midwest Military Radio Collectors Group and Military Radio Collectors Association ) will have there annual WW2 Backpack and field radio net at noon on 3885 on Saturday at the hamvention. This net features multiple stations operating AM using vintage military hardware. Often have the largest collection of working BC-611 on air anywhere in the world. I intend to be running a BC-654 set up but will be using the motor generator and not the hand crank unit.
