Last week I donated my APN-1 radar altimeter to the museum at the National Aviation Education Center. It's a WWII museum, as far as most of the gear goes. They don't actually operate the electronics but they restore/chean and display them.

The APN-1 operates between about 420 and 470MHz. Its range is 0-400 and 400-4000 FT.

The week before, someone had donated a restored ART-13 which had a 120V-operated power supply instead of the dynamotor. It was from a ham who had restored it.

Got me to thinking, there's a good home for that WWII surplus magnetron that's been lying around. and other stuff.

They give a donation reeipt for tax purposes.. which is what I was after.
