I have a Heathkit IM-28 VTVM that has two FETtrons acting as a 12AU7 and another as a 6AL5.  It appears that they are direct replacements as the schematic shows tubes in the circuit.   Question - can I use a standard tube tester to check operation of these devices?  My rememberance is that you can.

What do the Fettron schematics show? I would not make that assumption until I knew what was in those devices.
