Everyone by now probably has heard of the production re-start of the Western Electric 300B triode a few years ago; now moved to a facility in Rossville Georgia, just across the line from
Chattanooga Tennessee.

An updated story was published in Wired.com earlier this week by Roy Furchgott on Charles Whitener and the Western Electric tube production which includes plans to add more types into production.

You'll have to bear with the damn subscription request hijacking, refresh the tab/webpage:

Enjoy,

I seem to remember he was suppose to start making 12AX7's sometime back around 2007. Still waiting.

Given the current prices for the 300B's he manufactures, I wouldn't expect any additional tube models he manufactures will be "low price" and comparable to typical Ebay or flea market prices.

Old tube news. Tongue

That has been 'discovered' several times in the last few years.

There is information in this new article I did not know and there are photos of the production which I'm pretty sure are not on the Western Electric.com website.

If there's any interest, as of 2023 these apparently are the existing (audio/receiving level) vacuum tube manufacturers. Most but not all are expensive.
