Home of GORT. A buddy of mine named the 813 rig GORT.
His fear was when I turned it on for the first time life on earth would come to a stand still.

Very sad; love that place. CT's a small state, but it was still an awkward drive for me so I didn't get there too often, and bought more from their website than their brick & mortar. Every time I was in the store business was booming. I regret their closing, but I salute them for a long, successful run in a difficult market and in small-business unfriendly state.

I haven’t done business with them at the ham radio level, but JAN Electronics in New London apparently does over the counter sales to the public.  Joe, N1VIV went over there for some small components needed when we were getting a DX-100 working for Bob, W1GTH earlier this year.
