IN A TRIODE NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREEN

Myself and Sam, KF7WWW are taking possession of an RCA TTU-110 UHF analog transmitter.  It made 110kW on 700-some MHz.

It is a shame to pull down such a magnificent beast, but analog TV is dead, and the client station needs the space for other equipment.

Anyone need a man-sized Klystron?

I will post photos as the project goes along.  Comments welcome via PM.

As it turns out, the beastly tubes weigh in at just under 800lbs each.

In light of that, we had to cut them up to be able to move them out of the building and into the van.

They are mostly Copper, BTW, and that pays well at the scrap yard.  200lb electromagnets as well.

Many good electronic devices are coming out unharmed, so great portions of the transmitter will be repurposed rather than recycled.
