Well, just in time for the snow a monster windstorm this past weekend blew some of my pine trees down. This one brought my dual-band dipole with it to the ground. Looks like I'll be off 80 & 40 for a while.

That looks a bit suspicious.  Usually pine trees uproot in a strong wind because of small root area  compared to hardwoods .  That one broke, wonder if it was diseased?

Hope you get the antenna back up soon, I will miss hearing you down here this winter if you don't.

Thanks Joe! I'm hoping to get it untangled, repaired and up to some level this weekend.

Kevin, I'm listening on 50.400 AM when home and today is WFH day!

I'll try a few times throughout the day. My new overhead garage door is being installed right now, otherwise I'd give it a shout now.

I've got to get a yagi up for six.  The 80/40m Non-fan fan dipole just doesn't cut it all the time.

I don't know how much this pertains to you BIL but I built one of those 'antenna launchers' using PVC pipe. Like a Poloroid camera, ya just point and shoot. I've hit the top tree limb every time. It take much time to build it and the most money I had invested was the $15 for the solenoid sprinkler valve. The rest was culled from PVC scraps at work and here at home.

Hi Mike!
I use my recurve bow. Puts the line right where I want it. I shoot a 25lb test fishing line with the bow and pull the support rope up with that.

I got the antenna free from the pine tree yesterday and it's up high enuf to use for now. Once the trees are cleaned up I'll put it back up to the 70ft level again.
