I have a panel meter that has one of the screws that holds the face in position missing. Thus, when I bump the meter good it comes loose. Then I have to pull the transmitter out, remove and disassemble the meter, fix it and reverse. A pain. Does anyone know the size of those tiny screws and where a guy could find a replacement? The meter is one of the square face black bakelite meters with a 2.75in back. I have looked on ebay and short of buying another meter to steal parts, no luck.

Dime store eyeglass repair kit?

I have also had good luck at mom and pop old hardware stores.

If you can identify the screw size and pitch, McMaster has them down to about triple-aught-nuthin.  I have good luck with them for all sorts of supplies.

Picture, clear, closeup of the face, and the back from the side please?

Just need to be able to actually see what is going on...

Manufacturer?

IF I can figure out what you have, I can pop a couple into an envelope,
taped to a card and send them to you - assuming I can "cross reference" it!

Cheesy

Weston model 301. In first pic, the screw that is missing is at the 5 o'clock position below the 301 on the face. The screw is immediately left of the screws that hold the movement.

That is not a problem to supply.  Cheesy

1st of all, that is not a Weston meter, rather a Weston faceplate grafted onto a Simpson movement.

PM me your mailing addy and will send the fix gratis.

What range reading do you actually want/need?

and

What size is the back of the meter/hole to mount?
or
The distance between mounting holes?

Better to replace the meter with a Simpson that is complete, imho.

Yr missing the "needle stops" and from what I can see the reason for the lack
of the other screw, is that it will not fit, unless more meat is removed from both
the left and right sides of the meter scale for the screws to be symmetrical!

Very perceptive to see that this was a mutt meter. When I get the screw from Dennis, I will open up the gap a bit with a small file and I am sure it will fit just fine. I have already got the shunts set for it so I really don't see the need to change the meter.

Thanks guys,
John
