Anyone want to try out 40 meter AM in the early mornings as an alternative to 75?  Propagation from the northeast to  the midwest and southeast is usually pretty good around 0600 eastern, i  suspect that propagation on 40 out to the usual suspects on at that time of morning in KY, GA, FL, IN would result in higher signals levels and less QRN than on 75.  The only activity I have been hearing on 40 lately is a little the mid afternoon, when propagation  is usually pretty dismal, few signals, and lots of fading. I'm up there now on 7290, will try being  there in the early AM from about 0630 to 0730 for the next few days, except Saturdays (Old Mil Rad Net on 3885 then).

Big signal out of W9AF and several other stations right now at 2156 EDT On 7290. I’m out at Weekapaug Beach RI taking a break from surfcasting.  No fish tonight but maybe I can bag some 40 meter AM Qs from the mobile from out here.  And there’s Tim!  I can’t hear him down here though.
