I am restoring this RME-69.The volume control appears actuated by a long rod which also actuated a NC relay which I assume is a T/R switch. The rod I have doesn’t appear to fit the volume control. The end of the rod is a hole bisected by a brass flange. Does anyone understand how this works? Is NC or normally open the position for volume? Right now the radio is completely dead but I did replace the PS caps and tubes. Powers up but no sound.

I might note I haven’t yet replaced C21 which is the electrolytic on the 42 audio output tube - so that might be the problem.

If it's like my RME-45 pulling the volume control out enables the noise limiter. It's got the same rod and push pull deal.
