For those that new Rod, I received a message from his daughter that he passed away last Monday due to complications from a stroke and pneumonia. Rod had been trying to get relicensed after letting his license lapse several years ago but damage from a stroke a few years ago hindered his memory.

Obituary is here:  https://douglassfuneral.com/wp-content/plugins/funeralworks_obituary_plugin/ajax-obituary2.php?Counter=2009&mn=25

Just got off the phone with Rod's widow Eleanor.

Rod had a very bad stroke a number of weeks ago, and really never recovered at all.  He was in a fairly bad state until now, where he is at peace.

Rod was 80, so had a full life.  I'll never forget all of the QSOs way back when - with Rod, Corkey (K1GWT), W1ECO and of course Irb (W2VJZ).  Lots of fun !
