Man, the EH unit is very buzzardly looking!

Ribbons can sound really nice. They are prone to magnetic field induction, so if you want to use one with your radios, some distance from any power transformers is required. I used to use a Reslo ribbon mic, one with a much smaller ribbon and more compact magnetic design than the ones listed above. It still wouild pick up hum if placed to close to anything with a power tranny in it. I'm not talking about 10's of feet spacing requirements, but if you want to have a ribbon on a desk stand 6 inches from youtr Valiant, you may have a problem.

Electro Harmonix?  Wow, haven't seen that name for a while.  Didn't they get their start building effects pedals in the 70s?

Yea, I love the look of that EH! Geez, now I won't have to sell any vital organs to afford one of the classic RCA ribbon mics, I'll just pickup one of these.  Cheesy
