Just noticed that the animated S meter avitars used by several on this board are responding in a manner that appears to indicate operation  in the... dare I say it...slopbucket mode. Shouldnt they just start from a low level, and swing up to a nice solid 40 db over steady carrier, perhaps with a little upward modulation?

Great observation OM, of course it could also be CW with slow meter ballistics.

Nice catch!

Or you're within 25 KHz of Johnny and the meter is registering the splatter.
