He did a great job at it.  It's been many years but I can still hear his voice in my head when I think of Deerfield.... especially in the early days when hams were paging their buddies day and night.  I think they just wanted to hear their calls announced... :-)   Nowadays  it's mostly quiet on the PA.  (ahhhh.. tranquility)

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.
