An AR-88 is a star in episodes 5 and 6 of Prime Suspect:Tennison, a prequel to the series we all knew and loved in the '70s, Prime Suspect. I just binge watched it (as we all do these SIP days), all six episodes. I proudly announced to my wife, Patty, "That's an AR-88, a great receiver but a two-person lift," showing off my knowledge of stuff she doesn't give a hoot about. Shortly afterwards the AR-88 was introduced by name, confirming my statement. She remained unimpressed. It was pivotal in the story. I think I can tell you that much without spoiling the plot

This is not a new show so maybe this is old news to you folks. But not to me.

I saw that several weeks ago. Kind of messed up though since he was supposedly tuning in VHF radio comms and he called it something like the RCA 88.
